Blimey, what a journey! I will write a longer review at some point, but for now, I loved this so much I bought the paperback whilst listening to the audiobook.
The audio narrator Stephen Thorne gets a thumbs up for 36 (finished) hours whilst not fading in interest nor boring me, and the author gets a cheer for tackling all facets of our island nation's past, without guilt or apology.
An immense and inspiring tome well worthy of delving into. One of my favourite lines was from very early on, describing the English as well-groomed with fabulous hair, as recorded by the Romans. XD
